Canal Cruising Company was founded in Stone in January 1948 by Rendell and Jean Wyatt, inspired by L.T.C. Rolt's book Narrow Boat, and is now run by the fourth generation of the same family from a wharf on the Trent and Mersey Canal. The company hires canal boats for weekly holidays, short breaks and overnight taster stays, and operates a boatyard offering dry docking, engine servicing and repairs. Routes run onto the Four Counties Ring and the Shropshire Union Canal.
