Eagle House sits at Cross Butts on the edge of Eccleshall, a Grade II listed Georgian house run as a bed and breakfast by Helen and Andy. Original beams and fireplaces remain in place through three en-suite rooms, named Greatrex, Tunnicliff and Emery after local history, plus a separate one-bedroom apartment called Eagles' Nest let for self-catering stays. Breakfast is served in a garden room looking onto the grounds, and the couple keep an electric car charger on site for guests. The house has picked up a Gold Award from Enjoy Staffordshire and a Travellers' Choice award from Tripadvisor in recent years. Eccleshall's market town centre, with its castle ruins and run of independent shops, is a short walk from the door, making the house a base for touring the surrounding countryside rather than a stopover on a main road.
