Beyond thePale

Beyond the Pale occupies a small unit in Leek's Smithfield Centre. The bar stocks a rotating range of international bottled beers, keg lagers and ales alongside cocktails and gin and tonics, in place of the cask ale found in more traditional Moorlands pubs. It runs as a single-site free house rather than a brewery-tied pub, opening from 6pm on weeknights and from early afternoon at weekends. The compact, shop-style layout seats a small number of drinkers around the bar itself. Owners can be reached directly by phone or email rather than through a managing company, reflecting its independent, owner-run set-up.
