Foxlowe Arts Centre occupies a Georgian townhouse dating to the 1770s at the top of Leek's Market Place. A group of local volunteers formed the Foxlowe Arts Centre Trust in 2011 and opened the building's first Christmas exhibition that December, later adding a community cafe. The trust bought the freehold outright through a community loan scheme after years of paying down a private mortgage to the previous owners. Across three floors the centre now runs an exhibition gallery, a cinema and comedy programme, theatre productions, a talks series and the Drawing Room Cafe, which sources food locally where it can. Room hire supports weddings and functions in the building's Heritage Room.
