The Red Carpet Cinema and Café Bar sits at Barton Marina in Barton-under-Needwood, just off the A38 between Lichfield and Burton upon Trent. Kate Silverwood came up with the idea for the cinema at her kitchen table and built it into a two-screen venue with an attached café bar and outdoor patio. The programme mixes mainstream releases with art-house and independent film, alongside satellite broadcasts of opera, ballet and live concerts relayed from venues around the world. The café bar serves breakfast, lunch and evening meals, including home-cooked pizzas, with combined ticket-and-meal packages available for daytime and evening screenings. The business employs around fifty people from the surrounding area and sends a monthly food delivery to the local YMCA. Free parking is available on site at the marina.
