Horse & Dove opened on Market Place in Uttoxeter on 1 March 2017 as the town's first micropub, set inside a listed Georgian building with two small rooms and no music or fruit machines. Up to five cask ales are on at once, with a rotating slot regularly given to Wye Valley's Butty Bach alongside changing guest beers from smaller breweries. The cider list runs long by micropub standards, and a shelf of gins sits behind the bar. CAMRA named it Uttoxeter's Pub of the Year twice, in 2018 and 2020, and it picked up a Cider Pub of the Year award in 2023. The pub keeps short opening hours, closed on Mondays and not opening before half past three on weekdays, and there is no kitchen, just bar snacks to go with the drinks.
