Art in the Heart was founded in 2012 by Dawn Birch-James to give Peterborough's artists and makers a shopfront on the high street, closing briefly in 2018 before returning as a shop and gallery under new owners Pavel Khokhlachev and Namita Kapila from 2021. The Westgate Arcade space exhibits and sells work from more than ninety local artists, framers and makers.
