Wired Records trades from a unit at the Cresset Centre in Bretton, Peterborough, where owner Mick Weston sells new and pre-loved vinyl and CDs spanning genres from the 1950s to the present day. Weston's own interest in music runs from Northern Soul and disco to punk and reggae, shaped by years of DJing, playing in bands, and working behind the counter of his uncle's record shop during the 1970s. The shop, previously known as West Town Records, moved to its current Cresset Centre premises after relocating from Lincoln Road. Wired Records also buys pre-loved record collections directly from sellers at prices set after inspecting the vinyl, and holds platinum seller status on the online marketplace Discogs. The shop closes on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays.
