AxelJack Brewery was founded in Maesteg in May 2023 by Craig Jackson and Ian Axelsen, who brew from a unit at the New Cornstore on the Heol Ty Gwyn Industrial Estate. Craig Jackson's recipes have won three gold medals at the European Beer Challenge, a competition judged blind by supermarket buyers from across Europe. The brewery produces cask and keg ales and lagers under its own name, supplying pubs, bottle shops and farm shops across Bridgend county, including Forage farm shop near Cowbridge. As a small operation run by its two founders, output is limited to what the pair can brew and package themselves, with beer sold directly from the brewery as well as through outside stockists. The business is registered as an independent, Welsh-owned brewer rather than part of a larger group. Trade and visiting customers can contact Craig or Ian directly to arrange collection or wholesale orders during the working week.
