Badvo Distillery operates from Knockbarry Farm at Moulin, on the edge of Pitlochry, land the Stewart family has farmed for several centuries. Founder Helen Stewart began planning the distillery as a teenager while researching her family's own history of illicit distilling, and formally established Badvo Distillery Limited, registered at Companies House as SC553885, in 2018, launching gin distilled and hand-foraged on the farm. The site draws on the farm's spring water and hedgerows for botanicals, and retains older farm buildings with features associated with historic spirit production, including a former malting floor. Gin is sold in 70cl bottles direct from the distillery's own shop and via stockists rather than through a visitor centre with fixed opening hours; farm and building visits, including for weddings the site also hosts, are by prior arrangement. It operates from this single Perthshire farm address, independently of the larger distillery groups with tasting rooms elsewhere in the region.
