Blackwells Butchers has traded from 122 High Street in Norton village, Stockton-on-Tees, for more than 70 years and remains independently owned by the Blackwell family. The shop sources meat directly from regional farms, with a focus on traceability back to individual producers, and its counter covers fresh beef, lamb, pork and poultry alongside a deli selection. The kitchen makes its own pies and pastries on site, using recipes handed down within the family, plus a rotating range of sausages and cooked meats. Blackwells runs an online shop for local delivery in addition to counter sales, and the business is a member of the Q Guild of butchers, a national quality mark for independent shops. Trading hours run from early morning through to mid-afternoon on weekdays and Saturday, with the shop closed on Sundays. It remains a single-site operation rather than part of a chain, and stands as one of the longer-established independent butchers left on Stockton-on-Tees's high streets.
