Byard Art opened in Nottingham's Byard Lane in 1993, moved to Cambridge in 1998 and settled into its current premises at 14 King's Parade in 2009, directly opposite King's College Chapel. The gallery spans two floors and roughly 1,200 square feet, showing paintings, prints, ceramics, jewellery and sculpture from a rotating list of artists alongside a bespoke picture-framing service. Exhibitions change throughout the year, covering abstract, figurative and landscape work as well as applied arts. Staff describe the gallery's own history as part of what sets it apart from newer arrivals on King's Parade. It remains independently run, unconnected to any larger gallery group, with the framing workshop operating from the same building.
