A free museum at 101 High Street, Great Ayton, North Yorkshire, telling the story of Cook's early life on the farm, his education in the Charity School, and his voyages and untimely death. Displays also cover 18th-century teaching methods and the foundation of Charity Schools. Volunteers welcome visitors and run the shop area. Opening typically runs April to October, Wednesday to Sunday and bank holidays, closed Monday and Tuesday.
