Erin opened Cherry Picked in the village of Sarnau in June 2019, when she was twenty, choosing the name because she wanted to cherry-pick the best small producers in the county and bring them under one roof. The shop stocks Welsh cheese, cured meats, Cardigan Bay seafood, locally baked bread, cakes and a pantry of jams, honey, chutneys and pasta, with most items sourced from within thirty miles. Gluten-free lines sit alongside the everyday stock. Open six days a week, the shop draws passing trade from the coast road between Cardigan and New Quay as well as regulars from the surrounding farms. It remains a single-site operation run day to day by its founder, built on the idea that a good delicatessen should showcase its own county's producers rather than importing what could be grown or made closer to home.
