Surveyed
Ellen Wakelam and Alex Jungmayr started In the Welsh Wind in a cowshed near Cardigan and have grown it into one of Wales's most decorated craft distilleries, now working out of a former pub, the Gogerddan Arms at Tan-y-groes. They make gin, rum, vodka and a single malt Welsh whisky on the farm, and were named Drinks Producer of the Year at the 2024 Wales Food & Drink Awards. The shop and the tastings are open through the week, and the whole thing is independently owned, with no drinks group behind it. A genuine farm distillery on the Ceredigion coast — go for a tasting, and let the names of the gins explain the place.
