Natasha and Bob Coull have fried for Berwick for more than a quarter of a century, and in October 2021 they did the quietly satisfying thing: retired the shop's old trading name and put their own family name over the door — Coull's, restored. The refit that came with it doubled the seats to fifty and added a forty-seat garden terrace, sized for a town whose summer trade runs the tills from April to October; the fish comes up the coast, the trade press profiled the relaunch, and England's northernmost town eats here between the walls and the Tweed. The guide's English corridor ends, appropriately, with haddock.
