Firebrand Brewing started in 2012 in a converted milking parlour on Bodmin Moor before relocating to a larger industrial unit on Launceston's Pennygillam estate, where it now runs a taproom overlooking the brew kit alongside a can shop. The brewery uses Cornish spring water and American hops for a core range built around Patchwork Rocket Pale, Thundercloud Hazy Pale and Helles Beach Lager, plus an alcohol-free hazy pale called Shorebreak. Its branding carries a chough, the bird that is Cornwall's national symbol. The taproom, run with bar manager Kez, opens Thursday to Saturday with a Thirsty Thursday discount, monthly live music jam sessions and quiz nights, while the attached shop sells canned beer in boxes of six, twelve or twenty-four.
