The Bell Inn occupies a Grade II listed granite building behind St Mary's church that dates from the 16th century, when it is said to have housed the stonemasons who built the church. The free house serves eight handpumps of mostly Cornish cask ales plus two ciders, has a family room with frescoes uncovered during a past renovation, and a courtyard garden for outdoor drinking. Food is limited to pasties and pork pies, and there are no fruit machines, television or piped music.
