Nick Hartwell has run the butcher's shop on Watling Street West in Towcester for over 22 years, becoming sole owner in September 2017, when Hartwell's of Towcester was formed. Sheep and cattle go to local abattoirs and come back as whole carcasses, then hang and mature on the bone. Old-fashioned cuts extend to offal, salt beef, ox tongues and tails and collar of bacon; bacon is dry-cured in-house, and eggs come from Station Farm in Finedon.
