Towcester Mill Brewery operates from the old Towcester Mill on Chantry Lane, a Grade II listed building dating to 1794 on the edge of town. Director John Evans has run the company since 2009; it began brewing as Whittlebury Brewery in 2010 before moving into the mill in 2013 and opening its tap room to the public in 2014, returning commercial brewing to Towcester after more than a century. A five-barrel brew plant produces regular cask beers alongside seasonal and special ales, sold through an on-site bottle shop and served in a tap room, turbine room and steam room, plus a beer garden overlooking the old mill leat. The tap room opens Wednesday from midday until ten, and Thursday to Saturday from midday until eleven. Brewery tours and private room hire are also available.
