HAVØRN sells curated Scottish art and handcraft from a former Bank of Scotland building on West Argyle Street in Ullapool. Sara Garnett, who studied painting at Norwich School of Art and previously worked at Tate Britain and Bloomsbury Auctions, opened the business in 2015 under the name Ceàrd, representing painters, jewellers, ceramicists and textile makers from the Highlands and beyond. In November 2024, after outgrowing its original premises further along the street, the shop relaunched as HAVØRN, Norwegian for sea eagle, referencing Ullapool's Viking history and the sea eagles of Loch Broom. Garnett runs the gallery-shop with her husband Pete; the couple have lived off-grid on a croft near Ullapool for more than twenty years. Stock rotates regularly and includes vintage and antique jewellery, prints, paintings, ceramics, knitwear and bags alongside work from current makers. The shop remains an independent, single-site business rather than part of a chain.
