Surveyed
Helmsley Walled Garden occupies a five-acre walled enclosure that supplied fruit and vegetables to the Duncombe Park estate from 1758 until after the First World War, after which it fell derelict. Local nurse Alison Ticehurst began restoring the site in 1994, and it now operates as an independent charity growing produce, herbs and cut flowers, with a plant nursery, tearoom and a physic border planted for therapeutic horticulture sessions run with volunteers.
