Low Port Music opened on Linlithgow's High Street in 2021, after its owner moved to the town and, with his wife's encouragement, took on a High Street unit to sell records. It describes itself as West Lothian's only independent record shop, stocking new and secondhand vinyl and CDs across genres including indie, folk, rock, blues and country, alongside music memorabilia. The shop buys collections from sellers and gives shelf space to releases from bands and artists based in West Lothian and the wider central belt alongside national and international pressings. It has taken part in Record Store Day events and releases. The premises sit within Linlithgow's conservation area, close to Linlithgow Palace and the Union Canal towpath. Low Port Music trades Tuesday to Saturday and remains one of a small number of specialist record shops left in West Lothian, run independently rather than as part of any chain.
