The name is the founders' names run together — Luigi, Vincenzo and Antonio Fusaro, three Italian brothers who opened on Cupar's Bonnygate in 1983 — and the shop has become one of Scotland's serious drinks merchants: over a thousand whiskies, a deep wine list, and a national title to prove it, named Scotland's Best Independent Wine and Whisky Merchant at the 2024 Harpers awards and ranked among Britain's fifty best indies in 2025. The other half of the business is ice cream, made daily on the premises and sold from parlours in Cupar and St Andrews — the Italian-Scottish two-hander of drink and gelato, run by the same family for over forty years. Fife drinks well because of shops like this; the guide's brief had the family's name wrong, and the record is corrected here to Fusaro.
