McKee's FamilyButchers

McKee's is a family butcher on Fair Hill in Maghera, trading since 1898 and now run by the fourth generation of the family. Alongside its counter of beef, lamb, pork and poultry, the shop is best known for its cooked meats and handmade pies: a sideline begun in the 1980s by a family member selling home-baked pies in the shop grew so popular that a dedicated pie bakery was set up in 1986. The range now takes in steak pies, sausage rolls, scotch eggs and pastries, sold over the counter and dispatched by home delivery across Mid Ulster and the North West. It operates from a single shop, Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm, and remains independently owned rather than part of any supermarket or butchery group. Catering orders for events are also handled from the Maghera premises.
