Milkwood occupies a corner unit on Pontcanna Street, run by Tom, Gwyn and Cerys as a daytime café serving breakfast, brunch and lunch built around simple, seasonally led cooking. Tables turn over quickly on weekend mornings, when locals queue for the eggs and sourdough toast. On Friday and Saturday evenings the room switches identity for 'Dusk at Milkwood', a shorter menu of pizzette and bar snacks alongside cocktails devised by bartender Alex Taylor. The wine list is put together in partnership with The Bottle Shop on Pen-y-lan Road, and coffee comes from a rotating single-origin supplier. The café's compact size and set hours give it the feel of a genuine neighbourhood spot, and the daytime and evening menus rarely overlap.
