The Jewellery Studio occupies a shopfront on Cathedral Road in Pontcanna, founded in 1980 by Roger Williams. His son Thomas Williams, who grew up around the workbenches, now runs the studio and makes the jewellery sold there. The business designs and hand-fabricates rings, pendants, necklaces and earrings on the premises, working mainly in silver and gold, and takes on bespoke commissions and remodelling of customers' own stones and metal. It operates as a single shop rather than a chain, with the workshop set behind the retail counter so customers can see pieces being made. The studio has traded from the same Pontcanna address for over four decades under two generations of the same family, and repairs and valuations are carried out in-house rather than sent elsewhere. Opening hours run Tuesday to Saturday, with the shop closed Sunday and Monday.
