Independent local-history museum on the upper floor of Richmond's Old Town Hall, formally opened by Queen Elizabeth II in October 1988 and registered as a charity the same year. Its permanent displays trace the history of Richmond, Kew, Petersham and Ham from medieval times to the present, drawing on objects, maps and photographs held in the borough's collection.
