The Nags Head stands on London Road in Wollaston and was bought in summer 2022 by a local shoemaking family, who restored its original name after a period trading as the Wollaston Inn. The pub has a notable music history: between the late 1960s and early 1970s, landlord Bob Knight turned it into one of the country's more forward-thinking live venues, booking acts including Rod Stewart, U2 and Status Quo, while broadcaster John Peel held a regular Friday DJ residency there. Today it operates as a freehouse pub and restaurant serving an a la carte menu, Sunday roasts and a weekly fish and seafood night, with wines curated by Tilley's Wines. It opens Tuesday to Saturday from midday and Sunday midday to 9pm, closed Monday. The current owners run it as a single community pub rather than part of a managed group, continuing Wollaston's pub heritage on the same site.
