Quo Vadis has traded from a Georgian townhouse on Dean Street since 1926, when the Italian restaurateur Peppino Leoni first opened it. Karl Marx lived in two rooms on the building's upper floor in the 1850s while drafting early sections of Das Kapital. Now run by chef Jeremy Lee with owners Sam and Eddie Hart, the ground-floor restaurant serves modern British food beneath dark wood panelling and stained glass, with a private members' club upstairs.
