Royal Oak Forge is a working blacksmith's forge set up by Aaron Houghton in 2020, in a building that formerly housed the Betws-y-Coed Motor Museum on Royal Oak Farm, reached by a private driveway off the A5 opposite the Royal Oak Hotel. Houghton, who has practised traditional blacksmithing for over a decade, runs taster sessions and full-day courses covering knife making, axe forging, tool making and ring making, alongside longer programmes such as a blacksmith's starter week. The forge also takes on historically inspired commissions and has supplied ironwork for film and television productions. Visitors can watch metal being worked at the anvil during sessions, and free parking is available on site.
