Tu Hwnt i'r Bont occupies a grade II-listed building on the west bank of the River Conwy in Llanrwst, built as a dwelling in 1480 and later used as the district courthouse. The National Trust, which owns the building, has leased it to the same family as a Welsh tea room for more than fifty years. Cream teas, Welsh cakes and light lunches are served in low-beamed rooms overlooking the river and the seventeenth-century Inigo Jones bridge next door. The tea room has been commended in the True Taste of Wales Awards. It operates from this single riverside site only, with no other branches, and remains one of the most photographed buildings in the Conwy valley.
