Sage andSalt Studio

Sarah-Jane Beacher, a schoolteacher who began making art from collected sea glass and shells in 2021, opened Sage and Salt Studio at 4 Swan Street, Petersfield, on 2 December 2023. The gallery sells work from more than 70 local artists and makers alongside Beacher's own pieces, and runs a Craft Pantry drop-in space plus workshops and open studio sessions for adults and children. In its first year the studio won Best New Business at the Petersfield Awards and a Muddy Stiletto prize for Best Arts, Culture and Theatre Business in Hampshire, and ran a Christmas pop-up shop. Beacher describes wanting a place for local artists to sell work and for the community to gather for workshops. The studio opens Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
