SOroast

Dave, Ben and Sim founded SOroast in 2015 as Southampton's first speciality coffee roastery, initially working from a unit on the banks of the River Hamble. The business moved into a permanent café at 5 The Triangle in Bitterne Park, opening on 25 June 2022 in the former Track 21 unit, where customers can sit within a few metres of the roasting machine. Beans are roasted on site each week, and the shop was Southampton's first to run the Huskee cup deposit scheme rather than serve in paper cups; customers can also bring their own containers for beans. The café serves single origins, blends including the house SO:Special, and homemade cakes such as ginger crunch. The café opens Friday and Saturday mornings; roasted beans are also sold online and via subscription.
