Selkirk Distillers was founded in 2017 by Allan Walker and his wife Jane Gentleman, who distil small-batch gin at the Old Joinery on the Philiphaugh Estate on the edge of Selkirk. Selkirk Gin, the core product, uses botanicals including local hedgerow ingredients, and the range has grown to include Bannock Gin and limited releases such as the 1953 Gin, produced in support of the MS Society. The couple sell their spirits direct from a shop at 26 Market Place in the town centre, alongside gins and rums from other small producers. The distillery gives a share of proceeds to charities including the MS Society, the Brain Tumour Charity, and the police welfare charity Thin Blue Line UK. The Market Place shop opens Tuesday to Saturday, with hours varying by day, and the business is registered with Companies House as Selkirk Distillers Ltd.
