Surveyed
Wales's oldest museum, opened in 1841 by the Royal Institution of South Wales in a listed neo-classical building near Swansea Marina. Six galleries cover archaeology, natural history, fine art and social history, including an Egyptian mummy, Ice Age fossils and a reconstructed Welsh kitchen. Run independently by the RISW charity rather than a national or chain operator.
