The Boathouse

The Boathouse sits directly on the beach at Red Wharf Bay, on the east coast of Anglesey between Pentraeth and Benllech. The family-owned café and restaurant has traded from this spot for more than 50 years and is now run by Tomos and William, great-grandchildren of the founder. The kitchen serves breakfast from 10am, lunch from 12:30pm and an evening menu from 5pm, built around locally sourced fish, meat and vegetables alongside cakes and coffee. Tables inside and on the terrace look directly across the sand flats of the bay toward Snowdonia. The business opens daily except Christmas Day, with reduced evening hours on winter weeknights. Bookings are recommended in summer and school holidays when demand for terrace tables is highest. The menu covers breakfast plates, sandwiches, seafood and a full evening dinner service, making it a fixture for both local families and visitors staying along this stretch of coast.
