The Cottage at Castleton Barn is a seventeenth-century farm cottage that Pat and Catherine let at the end of a lane in Priory Wood, on a ridge above the Wye three miles from Hay-on-Wye. It sleeps four across two bedrooms; the larger has a cast-iron king bed and a roll-top bath with a view across the hills, the smaller a twin. Downstairs is open-plan, with slate floors and a wood-burning stove, and a terrace looking across the garden to Hay Bluff. Heating runs off an air-source heat pump, and the stove burns locally sourced wood. Guests let themselves in by lockbox, and there is a lockable shed for bikes; Pat is a cyclist and shares his local routes. The Wye Valley Walk passes close by, with an off-road path into Hay. The couple let the adjoining Garden Room next door.
