The Ferry Tap occupies a ground-floor bar in a building dating to 1683 on South Queensferry's High Street, a few steps from the Forth Bridge. It operates as a free house with no tie to any single brewery, rotating four changing cask beers alongside one regular, Stewart's Pentland IPA, with guest ales drawn from breweries including Loch Leven and Seventy One. Over fifty single malt whiskies line the back bar, and a whisky tasting society meets there on Monday evenings after a slot of live music earlier in the day. The barrel-vaulted ceiling and dark wood fittings are original to the old building rather than a later theming exercise. Dogs are welcome throughout, and the pub takes food orders alongside its drinks list.
