The Gower Deli opened in Southgate in August 2024, founded by chef Christos Georgakis with the help of a fifty-thousand-pound loan from the Development Bank of Wales. Georgakis reached the semi-finals of both BBC's MasterChef: The Professionals and the Welsh Chef of the Year competition before opening this single-site deli, bakery and café on the Gower coast road. The counter carries cured meats, artisan cheeses and Greek-influenced sweet and savoury dishes made with produce sourced from Gower farms, alongside bread and pastries baked on the premises each morning. Customers eat in or take away sandwiches, salads and daily specials drawing on Georgakis's own family recipes. The shop sits close to Three Cliffs Bay, pulling in walkers and locals for coffee and lunch through the week.
