The Muddlers Club opened in the back streets of the Cathedral Quarter in October 2015, taking its name from a secret society linked to the United Irishmen that met in the area during the 1790s. Chef-owner Gareth McCaughey, who trained as a pastry chef before working as sous chef at Belfast's OX and helping open James Street South, runs an open kitchen that lets diners watch each dish assembled. The restaurant was awarded a Michelin star in the 2020 Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland, a distinction it has held since. The drinks list favours Northern Irish producers, from craft beer to small-batch spirits. Set across a single dining room on Warehouse Lane, it operates as one restaurant with no second site.
