A Grade II listed building converted to an inn in 1823 and named for a logan stone on the moor nearby, the Rugglestone sits beside its brook just outside Widecombe-in-the-Moor. It is independently run and tied to no brewery, and there are no handpumps: the casks rest on an old stillage behind the bar and the beer arrives by gravity — a Teignworthy house bitter brewed for the pub, Dartmoor Legend, a changing guest, and local farm cider alongside. Vanessa Mason Hill and Richard Vaudin have run it since 2022. South Devon CAMRA has named it a pub of the year more than once, most recently its country pub of the year in 2022.
