Dan and Jo began Fuelled by Caffeine during the 2020 lockdowns by converting a retired horse trailer into a mobile coffee bar, taking it around the Newton Abbot area before opening a permanent site on Station Road in Bovey Tracey in 2023. The shop pulls espresso from beans supplied by Triple Co Roast in Cornwall, alongside cold brew, V60 pour-overs and a signature London Fog, and runs barista skills workshops for customers who want to take the craft home. It keeps shorter hours than a typical high-street cafe, closed Mondays and Sundays and shutting by mid-afternoon the rest of the week. The trailer-to-shopfront route is a common one in speciality coffee, but Dan and Jo's version has stayed local rather than expanding into multiple sites, keeping the business to the one room on Station Road.
