The Scandinavian Shop has traded from 53 Sinclair Street in Helensburgh since 1973, making it one of the longest-running shops in Scotland dedicated to Nordic design. It is currently owned by Lucy Paterson, who curates a changing stock of homeware, glass, lighting, kitchenware, toys and gifts from Sweden, Finland and Denmark, including brands such as Iittala, Kosta Boda and Kay Bojesen that have been sold from the same counter since the shop opened. The premises has never moved from its original high street site, while many of the surrounding shopfronts have changed hands and trade repeatedly over that period. Alongside imported design pieces, the shop also stocks Scottish jewellery, greetings cards and children's toys not sold through its website. It remains family owned rather than part of any wider retail group, with day-to-day buying and display decisions made in-house.
