Corner pub on Bethnal Green Road recorded from 1851, when it brewed its own beer under later ownership by Whitbread before falling quiet in the later twentieth century. The Umbrella Project, the independent operator also behind the nearby Discount Suit Company, reopened it in 2014 as a cocktail-led bar, keeping the tiled Victorian facade and adding a short food menu alongside a rotating drinks list.
