The Thirsty Giraffe is a micropub on Manor Way in Deeping St James, converted from a former bistro and reckoned to be the first micropub in the Deepings. Ales are served straight from the cellar, usually including at least one dark beer and something from the nearby Bowler's brewery in Market Deeping, which also brews the Hopshackle range. Alongside the cask beer there is a large selection of bag-in-box ciders, including several fruit ciders, and a short list of continental lagers. In keeping with the micropub idea there are no gaming machines or piped music, the focus being conversation, and food can be ordered in from the adjacent takeaways and eaten at the tables with plates and cutlery provided. The local CAMRA branch voted it Town Pub of the Year for 2024. It keeps limited daytime and evening opening rather than trading all day.
