T's Cakesand Bakes

T's Cakes and Bakes opened in Rothbury in 2025, when John Tait took on the lease at Townfoot and was joined by Teresa Muir and Glenn Taylor to run a café and takeaway from the front of the building. The kitchen bakes its own bread, including potato stotties used for sandwiches, alongside Muir's soups, cakes, pies and quiches made fresh on site. The café opens from 7am daily except Thursdays and Sundays, serving breakfast and lunch to a mix of locals and visitors passing through on the way into Coquetdale. It is an early-stage business without an extensive trading history, but it has been covered in regional press as a new independent addition to Rothbury's food scene and is registered for food hygiene inspection. The shop trades as a single, family-run site under independent ownership.
