Richard and Sue Hurst have run this High Street grocery and delicatessen since 1998, when they took over from Edwin Tully, the third generation of the family whose name still marks the shopfront. The shop opened in 1900 and once delivered to outlying farms by horse and cart; restoration work uncovered the original wood panelling behind later fittings. Today the counter carries more than 100 cheeses alongside charcuterie, organic groceries and sourdough, sourced from over 50 local producers, with a small tea room at the back. The Hursts are Fine Food Guild members and describe local sourcing as the shop's founding principle.
