Morris Adamson set up this Townfoot butcher's shop in 2000 and now makes more than 30 sausage varieties by hand on the premises, from British pork, beef and lamb with full traceability. His Cragside Cracker, named after the National Trust estate outside town, has picked up regional, national and international honours. Alongside the meat counter the shop stocks a small deli range of cooked and continental meats, local cheese, pies and pastries, plus more unusual lines such as ostrich and kangaroo. It opens early, from 7am most weekdays, serving both walkers heading into the Coquet valley and regular Rothbury households.
