Tyddyn Sachau began in 1947, when Fred Ferris kept pigs and grew vegetables on what was then a smallholding at Y Ffor, a few miles from Pwllheli. His son Brian, and later his grandson Stuart, expanded the site into a garden centre and nursery covering three and a half acres. The business grows and sells outdoor and indoor plants, trees, and shrubs, alongside garden furniture, tools, and gifts. An on-site cafe, Caffi'r Tyddyn, serves food overlooking the nursery grounds. Now run by its third generation of family owners, the centre remains a single independent site, with no other branches. Staff offer planting advice suited to the coastal climate of the Llŷn Peninsula.
